A beautiful little vintage paua shell and sterling silver brooch, with an attached safety chain, by New Zealand company, Ataahua. The paua shell (abalone shell) has been subtly carved in a sunray pattern to enhance the play of colour from the shell.
CONDITION The brooch is in very good vintage condition, with only minor signs of wear. The brooch closes with a simple C clasp. The pin on the safety chain closes securely.
MEASUREMENTS The brooch is approximately 27 mm across, and 18 mm high. The safety chain is 60 mm long.
STAMPS The back of the brooch is stamped with the bee symbol of Ataahua as well as a stamp for NZ and STG for sterling. The brooch has a design number of 743.
